BAND CAMP
2009 28th to 30th August
How many sleeps to
go? Band Camp 2009 is our premier musical event and it’s just around the
corner. It’s a hive of activity at Band Camp HQ and the word on the
street is that Band Camp 2009 is going to be our best band camp ever.
(We know, we say that every year, but every year gets better and
better…) Just remember to keep on practicing for these last couple of
weeks.
CHOCOLATE MONEY
Well done to all
those keen beans who have sold more chocolates than they’ve eaten. Keep
it up (selling, not eating) and remember to return the money to the
office ASAP.

Well done to our Concert Band for
winning GOLD at the Yamaha
Festival on Friday 13th June, 2008
|
 |
|
What a week for Concert Band…a
Highly Commended at the
McDonald’s Challenge and
Gold at the
Yamaha Festival! This is an excellent and well-deserved win
for Maestro Ray and our musicians, who have been practicing hard for
weeks. Not only did we play beautifully but we also looked the part,
with matching uniforms and very shiny shoes. Bravo! The whole school
is very proud of you. Special thanks to Marg Burke, Stephanie
Morrison and Emma Bell for their help (which was invaluable) and to
our lovely Band Liaison, Mrs Steggles and Mr Kunkler for
accompanying the kids to their performances. |
TRAINING BAND
ALL-STARS!
The training band did us proud at the Galston Eisteddfod in 2008. In their first big competition they scored 84 out of a
possible 100 points, which was only a few points off the
eventual winners. Well done to conductor Jane and the gang, who
waited very patiently for nearly 2 hours (!) before going
on stage. |
