SCHOOL COUNCIL NOMINATIONS
2009
Nominations are open for one (1) of the four
Parent Member positions for the 2009 School Council. Krisha Adams, our
secretary, will be resigning at the end of this year. Thank you Krisha
for your contribution to school council, you’ll be missed! The other
three parent members will continue for the second year of their terms.
The
principle aim of the School Council is in the area of School governance,
fostering an environment in which our children will receive a first
class education and to assist the school Principal, teaching staff and
P&C in the development and endorsement of educational needs and school
welfare policies. As a parent member, you will be required to
participate in one School Council meeting per month and act as a liaison
between the parent community and School Council.
The
School Council is comprised of no more than eleven councillors; four
elected parent representatives, at least two teachers, the school
Principal, the P&C President (or nominee) and, at most, two appointed
community members (from local government/business/industry or other
relevant groups). The only stipulation is that there are fewer teachers
than parents.
By
participating on the Council you can contribute to your child’s
education in a very positive way while getting to know the teaching
staff and other parents from the school.
If
you would like to discuss the requirements of the role in more detail,
please contact me on 0412 364 366.
Please return the nomination form
by the close of business Tuesday 25th November 2008 to the NWPS School
Office, in an envelope marked ‘The Returning Officer’.
